I would love to post a new photo of the Wired house. The promo photo shows the house surrounded in a lush green belt. In reality there is no green zone and it is way out of scale for the site and the neighborhood. I tried to take another photo of the site but was unsuccessful with getting the right shot. I may need a wider angle lens or get further away from the site. If you have a great photo, please do send it to us.

At the time of writing, that was the only info I could find... the house wasn't built yet and I identified the press release, which does have the pertinent info, as such. I hope someone who lives on Rochedale will write a new report of what the impact on the street has been.

is it intended that this site be used for advertising? using the press release doesn't seem consistent with the tenor of the rest of the site. also might be interesting to upload a photo or two of the actual now that it's in place (and in progress). let me know if you want a photo sent.

Another stone soup house . Stone soup? Yeah you can make delicious and frugel soup from boiling a magic stone and since you save so much money using a stone to make soup you can afford to add potato, carrots, onion, barley some garlic and a little meat.

Does this "high tech", LEED certfied, prefab house save more energy, use less materials cost less to build and take less time to build than the 1950's house that it replaces? Mind you that 1950's house was built in those conservative, cadillac driving, cigar smoking days of reckless resource consumption. The answer is an absolutely not. Just check out the elecrtric service panel you "Wired Guys" . The 1950's house had a 60 amp, three fuse electric panel! This 4 mil battlestar has the "low energy consumption" of a 1950's apartment house!. A similar "Eco" house in my neighborhood, modest in comparison with this behemouth, uses 10 times my annual energy consumption. They actually had the electric consumption on this eco "showcase" house viewable on line until someone kinda figured it was not that eco.

Live it up guys but own up to your reckless use of resources don't co-op the real movemnt to step lightly on the planet,

I agree. This house is way out of proportion for the site and for the neighborhood. It looks a little ridiculous. How did this get approved?

the house is nice looking so far, but it's way to big for the lot it's on, which is a shame.
