The promo photo shows the house surrounded in a lush green belt. In reality there is no green zone and it is way out of scale for the site and the neighborhood. I tried to take another photo of the site but was unsuccessful with getting the right shot. I may need a wider angle lens or get further away from the site. Stone soup? Yeah you can make delicious and frugel soup from boiling a magic stone and since you save so much money using a stone to make soup you can afford to add potato, carrots, onion, barley some garlic and a little meat. Does this "high tech", LEED certfied, prefab house save more energy, use less materials cost less to build and take less time to build than the 1950's house that it replaces? Mind you that 1950's house was built in those conservative, cadillac driving, cigar smoking days of reckless resource consumption. The answer is an absolutely not. Just check out the elecrtric service panel you "Wired Guys" . The 1950's house had a 60 amp, three fuse electric panel! This 4 mil battlestar has the "low energy consumption" of a 1950's apartment house!. A similar "Eco" house in my neighborhood, modest in comparison with this behemouth, uses 10 times my annual energy consumption. They actually had the electric consumption on this eco "showcase" house viewable on line until someone kinda figured it was not that eco.
